This is a mesmerizing silk shantung that changes its color depending on the lighting – it goes from pink tones to green tones in a matter of seconds. Shantung is a textured type of fabric that is ideal for silk because it actually looks better when it is wrinkled. You can wear it as a stiff kimono tied around your waist with its matching belt or as a kimono jacket to lighten up any outfit. It is definitely a statement piece that I hope will see many memorable days and unforgettable nights.
In spite of being made of pure silk, it is quite easy to care for – I have washed it once after sewing it in a gentle cycle at 30 degrees Celsius, but I do advise you to use a delicate detergent made for silk and other precious fabrics. I have also ironed it to make sure all the seams are locked in, but I actually prefer it unironed and rebellious.
All my kimonos are highly adaptable to any body type, but just so you know, these are my measurements:
